JARUS Specific Operations Risk Assessment (SORA)
The new European regulation, published on the Official Journal of the European Union on June 11th 2019 and applicable from 2020, allocates all drone operations into three categories: “Open”, “Specific” and “Certified”. To operate under the “Specific” category, in the absence of an adequate standard, an operator must prepare a risk analysis and submit it to the competent authority, in order to obtain authorisation to operate. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) advises for this to be performed following the SORA methodology (Specific Operation Risk Assessment), developed by JARUS.
EuroUSC Italia, having actively contributed to the development of SORA, offers two-day training courses on the SORA methodology (16h) for operators and aviation authority inspectors.
