ENjOy project aims at fostering the operational use of EGNOS in aviation.

The European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS) provides an augmentation signal to the Global Positioning System (GPS) Standard Positioning Service (SPS). Presently, EGNOS augments GPS by providing correction data and integrity information for improving positioning and navigation services over most of Europe. The EGNOS Safety of Life service (SoL), which is available free of charge to all European users within the service coverage area, is tailored for safety critical applications (such as Aviation) which have stringent accuracy, integrity, continuity and availability requirements. The ENjOy project aims to: design and publish Performance Based Navigation (PBN) approach flight procedures based on GNSS, specifically EGNOS enabled (LPV and LPV200); retrofit aircraft operators’ fleets with SBAS/EGNOS avionics to allow the supplemental airworthiness certification for RNP APCH procedures down to LPV minima; and support the safe operational use of EGNOS based procedures by developing and demonstrating the technical and operational feasibility of enablers focused on the GNSS monitoring and RFI detection in real operational environments.
