Risk Assessment (SORA)

The new European regulation allocates all drone operations into three categories: Open, Specific, and Certified. To operate under the “Specific” category, in the absence of a standard scenario or a Pre-Defined Risk Assessment (PDRA), an operator must prepare a risk analysis and submit it to the competent authority, to obtain authorisation to operate. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) advises this to be performed following the SORA methodology (Specific Operation Risk Assessment), developed by JARUS to support the risk assessment in the Specific category.

DO YOU NEED TO PREPARE A RISK ANALYSIS BUT DON’T KNOW WHERE TO START?

For operators or whoever doesn’t have a deep knowledge of SORA, it is difficult to kick off a risk assessment in compliance with the methodology recommended by the European regulation. The course is perfect for people which want to conduct a drone risk analysis but don’t know the requirements and documentation needed. EuroUSC Italia is the leader in Italy for SORA training. Big and small enterprises and public bodies have already chosen this training course for their staff, ensuring the level of quality that only those who have direct experience in the subject can guarantee.

LEARN FROM A TEAM OF EXPERTS

EuroUSC Italia has actively contributed to the development of SORA in the JARUS working group. Its training course on the SORA methodology has been attended by over 500 students from 2020 to date. Thanks to teachers with extensive theoretical and practical experience, the course provides the basis to apply the SORA methodology independently and obtain authorisations to operate in complex scenarios in a specific category. The training is divided into two and a half days and is full of examples and exercises based on real practical cases inspired by the experience of EuroUSC Italia. At the end of the course, 98% of students declare that they have learned how to correctly carry out a risk analysis for drone operations in a Specific category.
